If you’re a conspiracy theory buff or just like watching random videos on youtube, You might have seen the countless videos alleging that hip hop is “a tool of Satan”or a plot by the “illuminati.”  I even saw a video alleging that rappers are agents employed by the U.S.  government to keep young minorities pacified. If you haven’t seen them. I added some at the end of the post.

I don’t know about all that… but I was recently reading the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Hindu text written in 1500 B.C.. A verse in this sacred book shocked me. It speaks of the characteristics of a Demonic Personality. When I read the verse, it sounded like it was describing the characteristics of… (Pick your favorite mainstream rapper.)

Please read the short verse and let me know if you see some alarming similarities.

“The demonic do things they should avoid and avoid things they should do. They have no sense of uprightness, purity, or truth. For them the basis of life is sex.”

“I got this today, they say; tomorrow I shall get that. The wealth is mine, and that will be mine too. I have destroyed my enemies. I shall destroy others too. I enjoy want I want. I am powerful. I am successful. I am happy. I am rich. Who is equal to me? I give gifts and rejoice in my own generosity.”

“Egotistical, violent, arrogant, lustful, angry, envious of everyone, they abuse God’s presence within their own bodies and in the bodies of others.”

“Hypocritical, proud, and arrogant,living in delusion and clinging to deluded ideas, insatiable in their desires, the pursue their unclean ends”
