Being Vegetarian in America

Most Americans think that being a vegetarian is some weird rebellion against society. Recently when visiting an Indian Restaurant I picked up a Khabar magazine highlighting Indian-American culture.  One of the articles was about the difficult transition of an Indian coming from a vegetarian culture to America “beef country.”  I hope you are as intrigued by the information is this article as I am. Clear! Breathing life into Hip Hop

It has been a great couple of months for Hip Hop. With stellar album/mixtape releases from Jay-Z, Slaughterhouse, M.O.P., Raekwon, Kid Cudi and Drake Hip Hop once again has become a marriage of beats, style and thought provoking lyrics. Atlanta’s Urban Farming Movement

On a plot of soil, nestled against the backdrop of skyscrapers in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, a group of residents are turning a lack of access to fresh produce into a revival of old traditions and self-empowerment.

HABESHA Gardens is one of many urban gardens sprouting up around the country. Fruits and vegetables are thriving in this community garden located in an economically depressed area of the city known as Mechanicsville. Continue reading
