[Poem] Peace

Waves of possibility harmonize as they crash against the shores of regrets.
Her omnipotent mortality and omnipresent misdirection
Causes her to sink in the concrete of contradictions
As she is unable to align with constructed traditions of her religion.

Her finger tangos with her curly tangles as she ponders.
She ignores the signs of absolution as she wanders
Alone amongst the lonely.
She bumps into her indoctrination.
He was her one and only

Most of these products and services are merely schemes to make you appear “better” but do not even attempt to make you well. In March 2010, I moved to Washington D.C.. In my mind it was going to be a fresh start in a new “movers and shakers” city, which was closer to my long-time friends and family. In my last year in the ATL, I said frequently and with disdain, “I’ve outgrown this place!” Well, it seems I was somewhat mistaken. Actually, I outgrew the the Atlanta version of me. Opportunity Cost

Earlier this year, I was tasked with co-mentoring a high school student. To be honest, I didn’t want to do it. The thought of being a direct influence on a young man’s life was too much responsibility at a time when my own life was in turmoil. As a compromise, I guided him to a few of the books which had guided me; The Alchemist, Art of War, and 48 Laws of Power.
